about

written, performed and edited by Jonathan Deasy

These two pieces are a study of decay, space and patience using a Fender Rhodes electric piano, effects and amplifiers.

This is an exploration of techniques and sounds with an instrument that is not part of my usual vocabulary. Sound pressure and the deliberate decay of the soundwaves were a particular focal point of the exercise. Whether it succeeds or fails is almost beside the point.

Jonathan Deasy is a guitarist, composer and improviser performing in numerous solo and group based projects focusing mostly on minimalism, drone and free music. He is based between Cork, Ireland and Clermont-Ferrand, France. (quietclapping.bandcamp.com)
